The Agribologna platform
Agribologna aims at large scale retail channels with a modern 1,800 square metre platform situated in the Group’s logistics area near the Caab.
Opened in the 90s, the platform first started working as a transit point structure for the partners’ produce for supermarkets, expanding over time to become a real management structure for relations with clientele of the large scale retail channels.
At present there is a sales office inside where 6 people work, handling more than 16,000 t/annum for the Industrial Distribution Centres (Ce.d.i.: Centri di Distribuzione Industriale) of the main Italian brands with an average of 60 t/day and an assortment of 50-60 products.
The platform has cold storage rooms that can hold 90 t, but most of all it has service structures for accurately controlling the incoming product, sent from the farmer partners, already packed in crates with sides that can be lowered.
Products are partially repacked inside the platform and may even be put in trays of different formats (sales unit).
Packing is done in a room equipped with 5 automatic lines with a daily production capacity of 36,000 kg.
The load units (Picking) are prepared with the aid of computer-controlled dynamic weighing systems that can trace the outgoing product.
Agribologna’s sales structure is also especially active on the promotional side of business with numerous initiatives for large scale retail channels to help the consumer learn about the quality of its productions and the strong integration between partners, co-operative and distribution system is consolidated by meetings with the producer partners, mini folders inside product packs, recipes and dedicated packs.
